Highest Rated Alcohol Detox Program
When you are living with an active alcohol addiction and are ready to take the steps to overcome your alcohol use disorder, the first step in your addiction recovery is to address the physical addiction that has been developed to alcohol by entering into an alcohol detox program. As you quit your use of alcohol, your body will begin the process of adjusting to functioning without the support of alcohol which can produce severe and, sometimes, life threatening withdrawal symptoms. Attending our medical detox within our residential treatment center will ensure that your physical and mental health are being monitored to ensure your safety and comfortability throughout your alcohol detox while supporting you every step of the way to safely move through your alcohol withdrawal symptoms without the risk of life threatening symptoms. Patients will be able to remain focused on achieving their goals of overcoming the physical addiction to alcohol.
Drug Detox Program
Similar to alcohol detox, if you are experiencing a drug addiction, the first step towards healing from your substance abuse is to enter into a drug detox program. Depending on your drug of choice, your experience in drug detox will vary depending on if you engaged in heroin, cocaine, prescription drugs, or meth abuse. Each specific drug will produce its own specific withdrawal symptoms that will vary in levels of severity depending on your history with drug abuse including the length of time you have been using drugs, the amount you use, and how often that you engage in drug abuse. Our team of medical professionals and addiction therapists will be alongside you every step of the way in order to ensure that you move through your withdrawal symptoms feeling comfortable and maintaining your overall health and safety.

How Long Is Detox?
Not everyone requires a period of medical detox to begin their recovery journey. If you do, your time in detox will be dependent on your unique history with drug or alcohol addiction including the length of time you have been engaging in substance abuse, the amount that you use in a given time, and how often you engage in substance abuse. If you have a family history of addiction or if you have cooccurring disorders, the time of your detox program can be extended due to these factors. Your time in detox will last until you have successfully overcome the physical dependence and moved through the withdrawal symptoms. Patients will often experience initial, mild withdrawal symptoms within 8 hours after you last drink or use drugs and the peak of your withdrawal symptoms will occur within 72 hours. Patients will typically be in the detox phase for 7-10 days. Once you are feeling stronger, healthier, and stable you will be ready to enter into the next phase of addiction treatment for inpatient rehab.
How Long Is Rehab?
Just as your drug or alcohol addiction is unique to you, your experience in rehab will be unique and catered to meet your individual needs. West Palm Beach residents can choose to participate in rehab for 30, 60, or 90 days. When you first decide to enter into addiction treatment, it can be hard to know how long that you will want or need to be in inpatient rehab for. That is why you are welcome to extend your time with us by 30 day increments should you decide that you need longer in your alcohol or drug treatment program. After completing up to 90 days of addiction treatment, it is recommended that you continue engaging in addiction recovery programs including outpatient rehab, 12 step recovery groups, and aftercare programs.
30 Day (short term rehab)
Deciding to participate in a short term rehab stay of 30 days will provide West Palm Beach residents with an opportunity to have a break from your home environment to allow yourself time to fully engage in the healing process of addiction treatment. Patients will be able to reside within our recovery center with other patients that are entering into early addiction recovery where you will be able to connect and build relationships with others who understand the emotions and challenges associated with overcoming drug and alcohol addiction. Together in group therapy processes and individually in your one on one therapy sessions, you will be able to heal and support one another in overcoming your addictive behaviors and begin to learn tools for living in sober living.
Long Term Rehab (60-90 Days)
For those West Palm Beach residents that feel as though they need a longer period of time in alcohol or drug treatment, there is the option to extend your rehab stay for 60 or 90 days to allow yourself the time you need to fully engage with the addiction therapy methods and continue to build on your skills for living in addiction recovery. Patients that have a history of relapse are encouraged to stay in drug or alcohol treatment to provide enough time to explore the underlying causes of your addiction while also learning the triggers that may have influenced your relapse behavior. A long term rehab will allow patients ample time to participate in specific therapy models including dual diagnosis treatment and trauma therapy that will support you in diving deep into your past traumas and co occurring disorders that you have been turning to substances as a way to cope with those troubling emotions and memories. Whenever it is possible, patients are encouraged to stay in drug or alcohol rehab in West Palm Beach for an extended period of time to ensure that you have the ongoing support of addiction counselors to create a new lifestyle in addiction recovery.

MAT
A medication assisted treatment (MAT) is a method of addiction treatment that supports West Palm Beach residents that are living with severe addiction to alcohol or drugs to safely overcome their addiction without having to experience the unpleasant and, sometimes, painful symptoms of drug or alcohol withdrawal. Patients will be able to undergo detox and rehab with the support of medical professionals who will provide patients with medical interventions and medications that will work to alleviate the severe physical dependence to drugs and alcohol and reduce the severity of withdrawal symptoms to a mild or moderate level and reducing any significant drug or alcohol cravings to a mild level. With the decrease in severity of symptoms, patients are able to remain focused on their goals of achieving sobriety and stay committed to the addiction treatment process. A MAT program will provide patients with FDA approved medications of buprenorphine, methadone, or naltrexone depending on your substance of choice and current withdrawal symptoms that you are experiencing.
Throughout your MAT program, you will have the ongoing support and supervision of medical professionals including physicians and nurses that specialize in supporting patients in safe, detox practices. As you progress through your detox process and begin to experience withdrawal symptoms, our medical team will monitor your physical and psychological health to ensure that you remain healthy, safe, and comfortable throughout your recovery journey. As the days in your recovery program progress, your medication dosage will be altered and, eventually, you will be able to taper off of the medications once you are feeling strong in your addiction recovery. Patients are not intended to be on medications for the rest of their life; they are designed to support you in overcoming the first stages of your addiction recovery until you gain stability in your newfound life of sobriety.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a common method of addiction therapy that is used to support individuals in identifying the emotions, actions, and thoughts that have influenced your addictive behaviors. Through individual and group therapy CBT sessions, you will have the opportunity to dig deep to understand your own personal triggers and learn different strategies that will help you manage your distressing emotions and overcome potential triggers. Patients will complete CBT sessions and feel equipped with the tools to live a long lasting lifestyle in addiction recovery.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) provides a therapeutic approach that encourages patients to look within to what has been at the core of your addictive behavior. Patients can engage in DBT sessions within individual or group therapy sessions that utilize various therapeutic exercises that will support you in understanding your emotions and thought processes that have influenced your negative responses to others and situations along with any self-destructive behaviors. West Palm Beach residents will learn skills for healthy relationship skills, emotional regulation techniques, healthy conflict resolution methods, and developing mindfulness practices. DBT will support you in being able to manage potential triggers or harmful behaviors to ensure that you can live a healthy, balanced life in addiction recovery.
Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT)
Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) is a therapy method that encourages patients to reflect on how your perceptions of interactions with others or situations influence how you feel about yourself. When you perceive interactions or situations to be negative, it can impact a person’s self worth causing you to turn to substance abuse as a way to manage or cope with the negative or unpleasant emotions. REBT will work with patients to challenge their thought patterns and rational reasoning about your experiences with others and perceptions by working with you to shift your thinking patterns from self destructive thoughts to positive, healthy responses that will foster a healthy lifestyle in sober living.
Dual Diagnosis Treatment
For many Americans that are living with a substance use disorder, there is also a presenting concern of a cooccurring disorder of a mental health condition. When you are experiencing significant side effects of a mental health disorder including PTSD, depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder and don’t have the tools to manage the symptoms of your co occurring disorder, the allure of escape and numbing your emotions through drug and alcohol abuse can become a method of self medicating. Through a dual diagnosis treatment program, patients will be able to learn new methods of managing your mental health disorders that utilize holistic, natural methods of treating your symptoms while also supporting you in overcoming your addictive behaviors. You will gain an understanding of the root causes of your addiction while learning the tools for managing triggers and any symptoms of your co occurring disorders.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a format of trauma therapy that works with patients that have experienced past traumas that have impacted their ability to live day to day and influenced a person’s addictive behaviors. In an EMDR session, patients will work alongside their therapist to safely revisit the past trauma and work to alleviate the harsh, negative responses or emotions that are associated with your trauma. Patients will attend trauma therapy sessions with their counselor where you will listen to tapping sounds and tones that will support your brain to be in a state of dual awareness. This will allow your brain to focus on two things at once. As you focus on the sounds and tapping, you will be able to revisit your previous traumatic memories and begin to rewrite your traumatic memory to one that is less intrusive and reduce the negative responses you have when encountered with triggers or stress.
Relapse Prevention
Once you have completed your alcohol or drug rehab program and transition back into your home environment, there are still moments where life has its ups and downs or potential triggers can arise. While you have put in the work to overcome your alcohol or drug addiction, an essential part of living in addiction recovery is to develop the tools for relapse prevention. Throughout your addiction treatment program, you will learn the tools for relapse prevention that you can apply to everyday life including mindfulness techniques, learning methods for emotional regulation, practicing holistic treatments, creating a strong community of support with others in addiction recovery that will help to keep you on the road to recovery.
Life Skills Training
When you are in the midst of your alcohol and drug addiction, it is common for many to lose sight of common life skills that are needed to live a healthy, balanced lifestyle. There are some West Palm Beach residents that may have been living with a drug or alcohol addiction from a young age and never had the opportunity to learn the life skills needed. Part of your addiction treatment is to gain the life skills for living a healthy life of sober living. Patients will have the opportunity to develop the following life skills:
- Learning proper personal hygiene and cleaning skills
- Acquiring healthy relationships and interpersonal skills
- Developing tools for financial stability including money management, bill payment, and budgeting
- Learning effective time management skills
- Organization skills
- Maintaining a clean, balanced household
Vocational Training
Individuals living in an active addiction to drugs or alcohol will often have difficulties obtaining or maintaining employment. This is often due to the cycle of addiction as a person’s full attention becomes focused on finding money for your addiction, using your substance of choice, and planning for the next time you will be able to use again. At DayBreak, we provide a non judgmental approach to supporting our patients in gaining the skills to obtain and maintain employment. Patients will learn employment skills for employment including resume building, securing a job, interview skills, and how to maintain long term, gainful employment.
Patients find that once they are able to find employment that they have a new sense of self confidence and self worth along with developing the skills for independence.
Group Therapy
Inpatient rehab incorporates group therapy processes which provides you with an opportunity to connect with a group of other patients in the recovery center that are living in addiction recovery. Patients will have the opportunity to process emotions, thoughts, and behaviors that influence your addictive behaviors. Patients will be able to learn from others experiences and relate to others allowing any feelings of shame or guilt about your addiction to diminish. Group therapy processes will be led by addiction therapists that will provide topics for group conversations including topics including communication skills, healthy relationships, and topics of stereotypes or social stigmas around drug or alcohol addiction. Group therapy is a healing process that allows patients to connect with others and heal from the pains or traumas of addictions.
Experiential Therapy
Experiential therapy is a method of addiction treatment that supports patients to address emotions, behaviors, and previous traumas that have influenced your addictive behaviors. Patients will be invited to participate in different hands-on activities that will support you in distracting your mind and body with an activity that will allow you to open up to have vulnerable, honest conversations about the underlying emotions that have impacted your day to day life and addictive behaviors. Throughout the activity, you will be able to release any negative emotions through the activity and begin to move forward towards a life of addiction recovery.
One on One Therapy
A key piece of your addiction treatment program is to work with your addiction therapist one on one to uncover the root causes of your drug or alcohol addiction within a safe environment. Through a comprehensive approach to addiction treatment with a variety of evidence based therapy methods, you and your therapist will work to explore the emotions, thoughts, and actions that have previously impacted your addictive behaviors. Patients will learn effective tools for managing triggers and stressors that will support longevity in your sobriety.
Family Therapy
While you are in your active addiction, it is common to lose connection with your loved ones as your drug or alcohol addiction progresses and you begin to isolate yourself from others and hide your addictive patterns from your family and friends. Once you have entered into an addiction treatment program, you will have the opportunity to reconnect with your family through family therapy sessions. These sessions provide a safe space for you and your loved ones to regain a sense of belonging and trust with one another by having open communication about any previous conflicts that have occurred and resolve any hurt feelings or mistrust. As a family, you will be able to regain trust with each other and develop the tools for healthy communication with each other and developing strong boundaries to hold each other accountable to maintaining a sober family relationship.
Trauma Informed Therapy (After PTSD)
In some instances, there are individuals living with a substance use disorder that will have a history of traumatic experiences and memories that have significantly impacted your skills for coping through stressors in everyday life. In an effort to reduce the negative emotions or responses, individuals will turn to substance abuse as a way to mitigate the significant side effects of trauma. Individuals with a history of trauma will be invited to participate in trauma informed therapy that will support you in safely processing your history of trauma while being cognizant of not retraumatizing you. The goal of trauma informed therapy is to support patients in healing from the history of trauma and learning how to adjust your emotional responses to triggers that will assist you in maintaining a life of sober living.
Physical Fitness
We believe that a key component of a healthy life in addiction recovery is developing a healthy balance of your emotional, physical, and mental health. That is why we incorporate physical fitness into each patient’s addiction recovery program to support you to find a healthy physical outlet that will focus on improving your physical health and abilities as well as improve your mental health by providing clarity of thought and emotional regulation. Patients will have the opportunity to engage in fitness through our onsite gym, walking amongst our property, playing basketball, light stretching, or yoga. Patients have reported an increase in healthy bodily functioning, improved sleep quality, stabilized mental health functioning, and a sense of belonging by finding activities that interest you and have you connected to others who enjoy the same activities. Physical activity has been proven to be an effective method for relapse prevention. .
Off Site Activities
Patients within our recovery center will be invited to attend weekly excursions that will take you off site and into the beautiful community of West Palm Beach. When patients go off site, they are able to attend various outings such as hiking, going to the beach, attending church on Sundays, and other unique scenic nature activities that will help to balance your emotional and physical health.
